Sant´Iago Fair ir an annual event that happens in Portugal if you visit Setúbal during the end of July and beginning of August. The city of Setúbal brings more than 300.000 people during 16 days.
Sant´Iago Fair is a moment of music, exhibitions, homapage to some personalities or insitution and brings specially spanish, french, german, english and irish tourists to the city. City of Setúbal has so many activities that tourists can make during their summer holidays. From Beaches with blue flag to wine tasting products of the region, it is a worldwide on itself.
Local habitants besides Figueirinha Beach and Galápos, on Arrábida Mountain loves to go to Tróia, on the other side of the Sado River, a place with an amazing blue and a place for the permanent wild dolphins family with 26 members ( the most recent born on 1st July 2011).
Setúbal is the homeland of José Mourinho, consider the best coach in 2010 and the winner of several championships in different countries like Portugal, England and Italy, besides the internacional cups UEFA and Champions. Actually, he is the coach of Real Madrid in the city of Madrid, Spain.
The region produces several amazing products, which are a result of the natural conditions like natural honey from Arrabida , cheese from the green landscapes and sheeps from Arrabida and Azeitão ( nowdays exist a Museum of Cheese ) and the conditions created by the innovation and man, like the famous rolls from Azeitão.
The rolls are already exported worldwide , to all continents and lots of countries which is a result of the company ( Tortas de Azeitão ) on innovation processes, quality and the original ingredients.
Setúbal is very near of the international airport of Lisbon ( 40 km ) and surrounded by natural conditions and human recreactions like for example the Safari Park on Vila Nova de Santo André, with a total area of 90 hectares in which Africa is the central theme, with several animals like fallow deer, llamas, springboks, commom wildbeest, impalas, bufallos, lions and may other species of afriacan landscapes. You need to visit Setúbal, a placa of culture, gastronomy, stunning landscapes, night life, casino, golf, beaches, and anything you can imagine, it is real in this region.
Setúbal is the city of amazing fountains , gastronomy like cuttlefish, fish cataplana, sardines, several gardens like Parque da Algodeia, Vanicelos, Lanchoa, Camilo Castelo Branco among others, were the green and the water mixes to amazing moments of relax.
